As Swipe is a regulated financial services provider, we must adhere to AML/KYC requirements. Therefore, to access Wallet and Card features on Swipe you will need to verify your identity. To verify your identity you can do this directly on the Swipe Wallet mobile application.
Once you have navigated to the Verify Account screens you will see the instructions on the application as shown below:
The Swipe platform has two primary KYC levels: Tier 1 and Tier 2.
For Tier 1 users must provide their full name, address, date of birth, and tax identification number (TIN). Swipe will perform relevant KYC checks prior to approving your account for use. Typically Tier 1 verifications are checked within seconds, but sometimes may take a few days. Users are able to use the multi-asset wallet, buy/sell cryptocurrencies, and use the instant exchange feature. There will be no banking features enabled or ability to order a Swipe Card.
For Tier 2 users must have successfully completed all the requirements above for Tier 2 and provide a government issued ID such as a drivers license, passport, or identification card, a selfie that matches the ID, and a utility bill/bank statement with the same address that has been approved in Tier 1. Tier 2 verifications require these documents to be verified by the Swipe compliance team and our third party verification provider. Once approved, you will have access to banking and card services.
